In 1987, I was admitted to the South Carolina Bar and to SC District Court. I started practicing bankruptcy law in 1989. Since 1995 I have been primarily representing consumer debtors, mostly in bankruptcy court. In 2007 I was admitted to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
My practice focuses on defending consumers in debt collection lawsuits including foreclosure, credit card collections and consumer bankruptcy.
In consumer bankruptcy I have particular experience in privacy violations, Chapter 13 attorney fee applications, 524(I) Chapter 13 plan language and defense of motions for relief from stay. I have neither applied for nor been recognized as a certified bankruptcy specialist or expert by the SC Supreme Court. Any results achieved for current or former clients or endorsements from peers or clients neither imply nor guaranty that I will be able to achieve similar results in any other cases. Each case has different facts, clients, attorneys and judges involved. All of which can make a difference in results obtained for a client, even where the applicable legal issues are the same.
